The Scottish Government’s Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Local Government, Aileen Campbell MSP, has underlined her and the Scottish Government’s support for the #ScotlandLovesLocal campaign.
Scotland Loves Local is a national initiative designed to encourage all those who live in Scotland to think local first and support their local town centres and high streets safely and in line with public health advice. It is backed by a range of partners including the Federation of Small Businesses and the Scottish Grocers Federation.
In a column published in the Daily Record last Saturday, Ms Campbell stated: “There has never been a better time to take a short walk, cycle or wheel to explore what our neighbourhoods have to offer, and by following public health advice we can all make local exploration as safe as possible”.
“That’s at the core of the Scotland Loves Local campaign launched earlier this week by Scotland’s Towns Partnership and which the Scottish Government is putting our full weight behind”.
She added: “It’s now more vitally important than ever to consider shopping, eating and drinking locally as we all have a role to play in Scotland’s economic recovery”.
