Traders across the country have been championing the ‘choose local’ message by taking part in a series of special branded markets to celebrate Scotland Loves Local Week.

A host of regular events have been rebranded, with Hamilton Our Town, Alloa First and One Linlithgow partnering with the campaign for their most recent markets to champion the rallying cry for us all to choose local, whilst driving footfall into local town centres.

So many communities across the country play host to markets, which are a fantastic showcase for local produce and creativity – and are an invaluable platform for many of those who sell there.

Hamilton Our Town BID manager Malcolm Thomas Harley said:  “We were delighted to use our regular market to support the Scotland Loves Local campaign, which is a superb showcase of local entrepreneurialism and creative talent.

“We’re blessed with some brilliant businesses locally in Hamilton – and they’ve been there for our community like never before in recent years. It’s vital that we’re now there for them. We can do that by thinking local first and showing them our support.

“It’s great to be able to shine a spotlight on the town centre through our regular events and markets in what is set to be a record-breaking year for our events’ footfall.”

Scotland Loves Local Week has been taking place from 28th August and runs to 3rd September, shining a light on fantastic local businesses, services and organisations – urging Scots to make the most of what is on offer, right on their doorsteps.

It’s been fantastic to see everyone at the markets embracing Scotland Loves Local Week!
