Scotland Loves Local Week 2024: How you can get involved

Scotland Loves Local Week will return for a second year from August 26th until September 1st 2024 – and there are many ways in which you and your organisation can get involved.

The week, organised by Scotland’s Towns Partnership, will highlight the tremendous difference that choosing local means for the future of communities.

And it provides a great opportunity for you to showcase the work taking place in your community to make it stronger, more sustainable and more successful.

How can I get involved?

Invite an MSP / MP

Show your local politicians the vital work done by your business or organisation. If you would like help in being matched with your local MSP, drop us a line on [email protected] and we’ll do our best to help. Politicians across the country are already planning visits and meetings.

Think media

Share stories of your support for Scotland Loves Local Week – highlighting the work that you’re involved in – with your local media and your wider community. You should share it with us too. Please share any news by emailing [email protected] and [email protected]. We’d also be pleased to work with you to highlight your stories with journalists. We have various materials which may be able to help you.

Stand together

Take a photograph of businesses together highlighting the ways in which the community can help local enterprises to thrive and leading the cry for people to #ChooseLocal. Then post it everywhere you can!

Social showcase

Run a series of social media posts highlighting how you support local life and businesses – and why we all need everyone to do the same. We have social media templates which may be able to help you do this. Please email [email protected] to find out more. #ScotlandLovesLocal.

Sign and share the Scotland Loves Local Pledge

Demonstrate your organisation’s own commitment to choosing local – and encouraging others to do the same – by signing the Scotland Loves Local Pledge. Then share that news on social media, with your local media – and with us! Please use the hashtags #ScotlandLovesLocal and #ChooseLocal.
