People, organisations and public authorities across the country are being urged to demonstrate their commitment to thinking local first by signing the new Scotland Loves Local Pledge.
The pledge signals an intention to build a better future for communities, with signatories promising to prioritise turning to – and spending with – local people and businesses whenever it is possible to do so, boosting their local economy.
It is the latest step in Scotland’s Towns Partnership-led Scotland Loves Local initiative, which urges people to play their part in creating stronger, more sustainable places by thinking, choosing and spending locally.
And the pledge has been unveiled ahead of the second Scotland Loves Local Week, which will take place between August 26th and September 1st.
Work is underway to encourage the likes of councils, individual businesses and improvement districts to sign the pledge – encouraging others to follow their lead in building vibrant circular economies where people and businesses support other people and businesses around them.
