The BID’s popular Saturday market was given a Scotland Loves Local makeover on Saturday 12th August, building anticipation for the first ever Scotland Loves Local Week which runs from 28th August to 3rd September.
The market celebrated local businesses and services in the area, driving footfall into the town centre and encouraging locals to get behind local business.

BID manager Malcolm Thomas Harley said:
We were delighted to use our regular market to support the Scotland Loves Local campaign, which is a superb showcase of local entrepreneurialism and creative talent.
“We’re blessed with some brilliant businesses locally in Hamilton – and they’ve been there for our community like never before in recent years. It’s vital that we’re now there for them. We can do that by thinking local first and showing them our support.
“It’s great to be able to shine a spotlight on the town centre through our regular events and markets in what is set to be a record-breaking year for our events footfall’.
Improvement Districts across Scotland have been getting behind the Scotland Loves Local campaign, with many getting involved, organising activities and hosting elected representatives for special visits.
