Television presenter Sean Batty is championing calls for people across Scotland to Choose Local.
The popular STV weatherman has signed up as ambassador for Scotland Loves Local, encouraging people across the country to get behind businesses in their community.
Sean is working alongside Scotland’s Towns Partnership (STP), the organisation spearheading the campaign on a series of new promotional videos to be released during the coming months.
Each will highlight the ways in which people can get behind the people and enterprises in their area – and how that support will build a stronger, more sustainable future for the places they live.
Filming for the first video began in Falkirk, with Sean meeting hearing from members of Falkirk Delivers Business Improvement District about what local support means to them.
It’s hoped that their experiences – highlighted by Sean’s support – will inspire people to get behind businesses in their community this summer and for the long term.
The presenter said: “It was great to be getting out to find out more about some brilliant businesses, the fantastic people behind them and the massive difference that local support means to them.
“These businesses need our support. If they’re to continue to be there for us, we need to be there for them.
“People across Scotland can help build a better future for their community by choosing local.”

Sean is no stranger to Scotland Loves Local, having hosted the first Scotland Loves Local Awards in 2021.
STP Interim Chief Officer Kimberley Guthrie, who filmed alongside Sean in Falkirk, said: “It’s fantastic to have Sean as a champion of the Scotland Loves Local campaign. The response he had in Falkirk was fabulous
“From his travels across the country, Sean knows the real difference that local businesses make to their communities. It’s great that we’ve such an enthusiastic ambassador for all that we are trying to achieve.
“Having been a local business owner myself, I know personally the direct difference that people getting behind businesses makes in their community. It allows enterprises to flourish, protects jobs and keeps our town centres as vibrant places to live, work and visit.
“Choosing local is a simple thing to do. The impact it has on building better communities is tremendous.”
As well as sharing the weather with homes across Scotland as part of the STV News team every day, Sean has also hosted the broadcaster’s popular Sean’s Scotland series, shining a spotlight on people and places across the country.
