Radio duo Crofty and Grado hit the streets as they backed a high-profile campaign urging everyone to choose local.
The GO Radio breakfast presenters have been rallying support in the drive for people to ensure the survival of their local business by getting behind them.
They met businesses from the Shawlands area of Glasgow, with Two Doors Down and Scot Squad star Grado saying: “Please think, choose and spend local.”
The pair – Gary Muircroft and Graeme Stevely – attracted plenty of attention in area as they filmed a video promoting the Scotland Loves Local campaign, highlighting the work of the area’s butchers, greengrocers, baristas, barbers, bakers and more.
And, asking the question of why choose local businesses, the response they championed was: “Why not?”.
Grado said: “For generations, local businesses have been there for us – no matter what was in store.”
Crofty added: “And it’s up to us to ensure that continues for many years more.”
Businesses in Shawlands have played a prominent part in promoting Scotland Loves Local this year, featuring in a TV ad, a social media campaign, as well as speaking out to explain why it’s so important that people not just think about supporting their local businesses – but do it.
Scotland Loves Local – which is spearheaded by Scotland’s Towns Partnership – has teamed up with GO Radio to promote the campaign. Tune into Crofty and Grado between 6am and 10am each weekday to hear more.
