The great tastes of three towns are being celebrated as part of the drive encouraging more Scots to choose local.
Scotland’s Improvement Districts (SIDs) has joined forces with tech company Vicinity to launch town trails for Alloa, Kirkintiloch and Linlithgow.
Working with the Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) in each of the towns, they offer a new journey of discovery for perfect places to eat, drink and be entertained in each of the communities.
The trails have been launched as part of Scotland Loves Local Week, which champions the message for everyone to think local first and support businesses in their community.
Each are pilot projects to harness and showcase the rich menu of food, drink, leisure and hospitality businesses which are key ingredients in the recipe of success for towns.

Rebecca Mather, SIDs’ National Programme Manager, said: “These trails literally give residents and visitors alike a real flavour of the great places to visit in each of the towns – boosting businesses in them.
“What better way to discover what each of these communities have to offer than by sampling some of their tastiest treats.
“In so many ways, they are the perfect guide to a day out – enjoy a coffee, head to the cinema and then top it off with cocktails and a meal.
“We are delighted that our partnership with Vicinity and the BIDs has opened the opportunity for people to explore more about these communities.”
Alloa First is showcasing food, drink and entertainment venues through its Toast and Taste guide.

Kirkintilloch’s ‘Kirky Cake and Coffee Trail’ celebrates the rich menu of places in which residents and visitors can enjoy a bite to eat.
Coffee and Cake is, meanwhile, on the menu for One Linlithgow.
